ParentAssess is now the most widely-recognised and accepted specialist parenting assessment framework in the country.
ParentAssess has been designed to be inclusive and easy to understand for parents and has received great parent feedback, including the easy-to-understand parent version of the report. It is a transparent parenting assessment framework that makes clear what is expected of the parent, how they are progressing and how recommendations have been reached. The outcome is provided using straightforward language and the Short Parent Report has been praised for its simplicity.
ParentAssess training gives social workers a thorough understanding of the framework, including how to adapt it to specific circumstances such as parents with a learning disability. With free post-course support and a Quality Assured scheme, ParentAssess strives to enable social workers to complete the highest quality assessments. The assessments can only be undertaken by workers who have completed the full 2-day Assessor training course run through ParentAssess. ParentAssess:
- Complies with relevant case law
- Is included in (and embeds the recommendations of) the Good Practice Guidance
- Was nominated for “Innovation of the Year” at the Family Law Awards 2022
- Is now used by the majority of Local Authorities in England
ParentAssess is now being fully embedded across a large number of Local Authorities and Organisations. ParentAssess can be used to assess any parent at various points including:
- Pre-Birth Assessments
- Early help
- Pre-Proceedings
- Care Proceedings
- Reunification
ParentAssess has produced a comprehensive legal advocate guide for those representing parents with a learning disability. There is a Quality Assurance form which helps legal professionals and others to quickly examine a ParentAssess assessment and make sure it meets quality standards.
